I really like the google translate site, it has a wide variety of different languages that anybody can use. Teachers, students and parents can find google alerts beneficial because they will receive an alert whenever something that they have picked is found online. I felt that Technorati was confusing, it had lots of information but it seemed cluttered and overwhelming when you first get to the site. When you log on to the Internet in order to search for something, you tend to look at the sites that get right to the point and look inviting. When websites have too much information or too many pics, etc. it sometimes runs the reader away. I really like to use google, and I think it is very fun to look up different blogs that I can subscribe to.

The article that is listed , It Really Is Really Simple: RSS for Educators is not a working link. I like the idea of RSS and it could be used in the classroom. Teachers can use this technology to get students and parents more involved in blogs that relate to the class. For my personal life I could use this for different things that are interesting to me. I really enjoyed searching through google reader. It has a wide range of interesting information, not only for teachers but anybody.

I picked the happy face generator because I know little kids love smiley faces and I like them myself personally. There is nothing like a smile to brighten up some one's day. I could defiantly use these generators to draw in my students attention and to spice up different lessons and to have fun with the assignment as well. These different types of animations keep students attention because of the color and its something interesting. I could use these generators to make things for students, decorations in the classroom, and even letters to the parents.

I really like the mashups websites, they are lots of fun. The mashups could be used for the classroom just to add some interesting touches to lesson plans, decorations, letters, etc. Since I am going to be teaching elementary students I could really use these site to my advantage. For my personal life I could use these mashups just for fun. Well, when I was younger I really did not mind putting pictures online, on my social networks. Now, that I am older and have a daughter, my views have changed. I am more private now and really never post photos because anybody could copy them and do whatever with them.

I have never used flickr but I found it kind of interesting. I thought it was nice being able to look at different pictures without having to make an account. In away its just like google when you search up an image. I myself love taking pictures and I used to have a facebook where I would upload many photos but once I had my daughter I became more private. I did have a hard time trying to upload a photo. I have to say I would not use flickr again, unless I got a little more practice with it and turned to like it.

I selected youtube as my tool because it is very beneficial to people of all ages. I really like youtube because it is used for many different things and anybody can use it. It is a website that is made up of all different kinds of videos. You can find music, trailers to different movies, and tutorials on how to do things, reviews on different things, and you can even comment on the things you find. One of the negative things about youtube is the fact that people can say whatever they want and post whatever they want. There really isn’t any kind of boundaries. I do find it to be useful in the classroom or library and many teachers today already use it themselves.

To me school 2.0 means that schools today are trying to ketchup with newer technology. School 2.0 wants to open more opportunities for students and teachers to have access to technology for education. For schools of the future this could mean that everything will be more advanced in technology. Teachers will probably start to see the advantages that technology can have on a student. I can understand the rules on no phones because of texting and social networks but, if teachers could focus on the good things that could come from a cell phone, computer, ipad, etc. like educational apps, then both the student and teacher could communicate better. Although, I do see a downside to schools using more technology. For example; when students start to use a calculator more than they use paper in pencil they tend to forget certain math steps, if they ever learn them in the first place.

Commenting helps create a sense of community and interaction, because without it people would not know how to have conversations and how to deal with certain situations. Also, none of these social networks would still be running with success. One point that I thought was very important was how you respond to people's comments. Personally I feel that there should be some kind of rules as to what people put on there blogs or comments. Some say it's theirs and they can do what they want with it and I don't have to read it. That statement is true but at the same time why tell the world things that only you or your family should know. I also found the part of the reading about everybody wanting a response to their comments to be true. No matter what someone post whether it be negative or positive they are always wanting a response. Think about all these social networks out here or these very blogs that we are making in this class, we all want them to be read and have some feedback. The blogs that I have picked to follow are Tori Hickman's 23 Things, Shaffer's Blog, Thompson's twenty-three things, Maultbay's Blog, and Cambre's Bloffedy Bloggy Blog. I have decided to follow these blogs because they all where interesting to me and I found very useful information on all of them. The comments that I choose to make depend on the topic and I just simply state how I feel about it. Aside from my classmates I choosed to pick http://teachingfashionista.blogspot.com/ and http://amber-polk.blogspot.com/ I picked the first link because I thought it was interesting how she loved to talk about teaching and her passion for fashion. The second link is from a third grade teacher which I enjoyed because I would like to teach third grade. She not only had blogs about the subjects her students were learning but also pictures.

There are numerous amounts of things that you can use a blog for in this world today. As a student in an education program I could use my blog to reflect on the different experiences that I encounter in this program. Other students could read my blog and it could benefit them whether they are thinking about entering the education field or if they are already in it and just need another student's opinion. When I finally become a teacher I would like to create a blog for my students and their parents. I could post different things relating to class work and I would also like for them to blog on how they feel about the topics we discuss in class. The parents would be able to get on and blog with myself and other parents about opinions they have and different concerns.

I loved going through the steps to create my blog, this is my first time blogging. The only thing that was hard was figuring out the name for my blog and the posting name. I finally just put the month my daughter was born and added love to it. Creating the avatar was the best part and it looks just like me, besides the fact that the eyes and hair are too light and the cat. I wanted to create it to look more like me because, it seemed more fun and truthful.

I really enjoyed the 7 and 1/2 Habits online tutorial. Although, I do know lots of these habits I must say that I did not know that they were officially labeled as apart of a learning process. I really just thought they were common sense or things that people just choose to do as apart of life. Lifelong learning is important for everyone. I have to say that the easiest habit for me would be, #1 begin with the end in mind. Everything that I do I try to focus mainly on where it will take me. I am a sophomore in college, I have a 1 year old daughter, work, and life itself. At times I am very stressed out and ready to give up but then I look at where I will be when I graduate and everything that stresses me out turns into my motivation to keep going. I would say that the hardest for me would be, #7 1/2 play. I picked this one as the hardest because at times I get so caught up with things that I forget to relax.
